Wimborne Model Town

Wimborne Model Town is celebrating 25 years since the original 1950s models were moved and reopened on the King Street site. Experience Wimborne Minster of the 1950s in 1/10th scale with over 100 decorated shop fronts. Explore the site with a free quiz or relax in the grounds absorbing the Sensory Garden features, sit in the Story Teller’s Chair, try giant chess and putting.

Enjoy coffee, lunch, afternoon teas and ice cream in our newly refurbished Tea Room with gifts galore in the shop. The indoor illuminated dolls’ house collection is a must to see  – each dwelling has a story to tell. Drive the trains including Thomas on our undercover multi track ‘00’ gauge nostalgic railway. Wendy Street is the enclosed play centre for our younger visitors. Find out about the goods and services available in 1950s Wimborne with our Coronation Shopping display.

“My parents always used to take me here when I was a child, and its great to be able to bring my children here as well. It has a lovely little cafe and shop, and its great for the kids to have a run around whilst visiting Wimborne Minster”.

Jp (Wimborne)

“Travel back in time to see what Wimborne was like in the last century, then delight yourself in the fact that the town has retained so much of its quaint and charming character”.

Lex (Poole)

“I have never been to a model village before and this was just so much fun! The volunteers who greeted us were really welcoming and they got my silly sense of humour! Walking around there is plenty to look at and the sensory garden is a fab spot for lunch”.
