Nothe Fort

Welcome to Nothe Fort!

Built in 1872 to protect Weymouth and Portland harbours, Nothe Fort is now one of Weymouth’s premier tourist attractions.

Made up of three levels, it encompasses a museum of the fort’s history, café, gift shop, and excellent 360 degree views across both harbours and the beautiful Nothe Gardens of the peninsula.

Throughout the year the fort is alive with themed events, exhibitions, and  our locally acclaimed mouse hunt; ensuring fun for all the family.

“Years of history telling the story of the life and times of the fort. Well explained, with film and pictures to help. Easy to get around with a lift to the three levels. Cafe for when you want a rest, as it could take time to see everything but well worth it.”

“Really great place for young and old. Even if you are disabled a lift is there to take you to the top of the fort. Fantastic views over Weymouth and Portland. Lovely cafe too.”
